Eight Rolls  2024
Printed textile, Roller blind mechanism, Stainless steel frame, LED lighting, Electrical components

Eight Rolls investigates how variations in light intensity affect visual perception. The installation features a printed textile scroll divided into eight segments, each representing a captured stage of light overlapping and transformation. These images were generated by photographing the changing behavior of light sources as they merge, interfere, and fluctuate in controlled conditions.

Mounted on a roller mechanism and supported by a custom-built lighting system, the scroll is activated by the viewer’s physical engagement. As the scroll is pulled, the strength the light source are altered. This tactile interaction turns the viewer into a participant in an unfolding visual process, emphasizing the fluid boundaries between light, material, and perception.
